Was very worried about getting upper and lower plates. I had heard stories from friends. So after much research and more research I decided to go with this team and boy am I happy I did! Hector was great and I hardly notice I have them at all! I will have to go for an adjustment but the fit is pretty spot on.

The clinic is bright and modern. The administrative staff are very helpful coordinating and scheduling appointments. Rick assessed and explained the options and advised me on the best corrective procedure. I chose implants and have been very satisfied with the overall result. I was quite impressed with Rick's knowledge and build quality of my denture and had minimal follow-up appointments for adjustment.

My 86 year old mother badly needed new dentures. The last set that she received from a different place, she could never wear the bottoms, even after numerous fittings they still hurt her really badly. Advanced Technique was recommended by a very satisfied customer so I took her there for a complete new set. My mother had an awesome experience! The facilities are very nice and the staff was so friendly and helpful. But my Mom loved Hector Castaneda the best! He made her the most beautiful set of dentures and he was so good to her! They fit perfectly and only the bottoms required one slight adjustment. We recommended Hector to my Mom’s friends and they all loved him too and were very happy with their dentures. We highly recommend Hector Castaneda at Advanced Technique Denture and Implant Solutions.

AvaDent™ Digital Dentures offer revolutionary, high-tech advantages to denture patients.

Advanced Technique Denture Centre Ltd. is pleased to announce the incorporation of AvaDent™ Digital Dentures into its practice. As one of only a select number of dental practices to offer this breakthrough, digital, CAD / CAM technology, Advance Technique Denture Centre Ltd. can now create an AvaDent Digital Denture with a precise, computer fit, in just two appointments.

Traditional dentures can take as many as five or more appointments. The AvaDent process starts with one convenient appointment to capture the patient’s exact features. The information is then sent to AvaDent’s Scottsdale, AZ facility where your dentures are digitally designed and precision milled from a compressed, pre-shrunk disk of acrylic. A second appointment for fitting and you are done!

AvaDents are more bacteria resistant than traditional fabricated dentures to help eliminate sore spots and “denture breath”. And because AvaDents are digital, each one has a permanent digital record so if they are ever lost or broken they can be replaced quickly and easily without the patient even coming into the practice.

With AvaDent our patients can regain their youthful smile with the natural look and feel they may have thought they had lost forever. “We tell our patients that with AvaDent you can have a smile that is virtually you!”

Equilibrated Complete Dentures, also called “Balanced Dentures”, are a coordinated system of products, instruments and set-up techniques that capture excellent esthetics as well as provide for precision fit with excellent function. The Equilibrated Denture technique was systematically designed to create dentures with ideal form, function and esthetics. It combines proven techniques, technology, and uses the most accurate materials available resulting in:

  • Superior chewing ability.
  • Ultimate fit and comfort.
  • A life-like appearance.
  • Improved Stability.
  • Freedom of movement.
  • Fewer adjustments which means fewer visits to the clinic.

From preliminary impressions through to the finished dentures, specialized procedures, materials and equipment are used to ensure a precise fit to simulate correct jaw movement and function. If you are looking for a denture that is remarkably natural, esthetic in appearance, and functions more like natural teeth, an Equilibrated Denture may be the answer.

When is an immediate denture used? To avoid the situation of being without teeth, we use the immediate denture technique. This involves taking impressions of your mouth while your natural teeth are still present. We are then able to fabricate a denture in the likeness of your natural teeth, or make any necessary modifications you may wish. When your natural teeth are extracted, your immediate denture is then inserted. In this technique, you have avoided having to go without any teeth while you go through the healing process.

Advanced Technique Denture Centre individually crafts each immediate denture, using only the best materials and techniques to ensure an accurate fit, optimal function, and natural aesthetics.

Things you should know about immediate dentures. Since we are unable to try-in the denture prior to extracting your teeth, certain esthetic compromises may be necessary. This doesn’t present any significant problems, and the results are normally quite good. It is important to follow the postoperative instructions that we give to you and the instructions of your Oral Surgeon very carefully. As healing occurs, the bone and gum tissue recede so denture adjustments may be required. Follow-up appointments at our office are necessary. To maintain the best fit and comfort, a temporary liner or tissue conditioner will be placed in the denture. During the next few months, bone and gum tissue will probably continue to shrink to some degree; however, the rate of change decreases with time. This is a natural occurrence, which is to be expected. After the healing process is complete, your denture(s) will be relined to ensure the most comfortable fit possible.

A reline is a procedure used to re-fit the surface of a denture to a person’s gum. This is done by placing a new acrylic base into the denture, duplicating the new form of the oral structures in the mouth. A reline can bring back suction, comfort, stability and discourage food from going under the denture. Relines are required for when bone and tissues change due to shrinkage. Possible causes for this shrinkage may be post-immediate dentures, tooth loss, weight loss, bone loss in the upper or lower jaw, sickness or disease, and general physiological aging. As a general rule dentures should be relined once every two to three years. Relines are a normal part of denture maintenance and important to the health of the oral tissues and bone support of a denture wearer. We will examine and we can help you understand the circumstances involved in ill-fitting, loose or broken dentures. Not all of these situations will require a new denture. A reline may resolve your problem. The bite position, existing teeth and acrylic base(s) must be in good condition and not worn or stained to provide a reline procedure. An impression of your oral tissue is taken inside your denture(s) to provide a working model. New acrylic base material is added to your denture to produce a correct fit. The appearance of your dentures will not change.

Soft Liners

If you have been experiencing pain through your gums for some time and your denture, even though it has been carefully adjusted, makes your gums hurt and we can’t see anything wrong except that with time your gums have grown thinner and their shape is more pointed. Along with the pain you have also noticed that your lower denture is becoming increasingly loose and uncomfortable. This condition is known as “gum resorption”. Fortunately, a soft liner can assist in solving this problem. Soft liners are a medical grade soft polymer material applied to the tissue-fitting surface of your hard denture base. Soft liners behave like a shock-absorbing cushion when you are chewing. Soft liners can be applied to new dentures, old dentures and reline situations. The soft liner is used in lower dentures and is bonded into your prosthesis. Being more porous, the soft liner adheres better to what remains of your gum, it is less irritating to your tissues and gives your denture more stability. A soft liner can reduce the shrinkage of your gum, which is constantly changing, and make the denture more comfortable to wear.

Benefits of Soft Liners:

After we have meticulously adjusted your dentures fit and you are still unable to find comfort with your denture, you may want to consider a soft liner. Soft liners are appropriate for:
  • flat or nearly flat gum tissues
  • gums with thin tissues over bony areas
  • chronically sore gum tissues

Soft Liner Facts:

  • over twenty years of advances and developments in quality soft liners
  • increased comfort during chewing and daily wear
  • clinical evidence indicating a high acceptance by patients
  • based on patient home care cleaning, soft liners have an average life span of two to three years depending on your physiology

Requirement of Care for Soft Liners

Soft liners require home care and proper cleaning to maintain their vitality. As with all removable dentures, soft liners require regular check up to ensure fit and oral health. To ensure that your new soft liner denture provides continued comfort, you should have it checked every year and replaced when necessary. This will ensure the health of your gums, as well as ensure maximum fit and comfort. If a soft liner is still not reducing the discomfort of your denture, dental implants is the next alternative. Dentures supported by implants are the most effective treatment of mobile dentures causing bone resporption and sores.

A removable partial denture is a dental appliance that replaces single or multiple missing natural teeth. It can be attached to teeth with clasps or it can be attached to teeth with crowns and precision attachments. A partial denture that fills in the space created by missing teeth is essential for many reasons. It can help you to chew food properly, improve speech, give your lips and cheeks support, and prevent your remaining teeth from changing position by drifting into the surrounding spaces. Teeth that are out of position can damage the tissues in the mouth. It is vital to restore the mouth to its original state. Those individuals who currently wear a full upper denture and are missing some lower natural teeth would have great success using a lower partial denture. Upper dentures that are not supported properly by lower teeth can cause many problems. For these individuals, this may result in a poor fitting upper denture causing an increase in bone loss, tissue growth and “sore spots”. A correctly fitted denture results when the fitting surfaces work together in perfect balance.

In most cases, we can restore an existing broken or cracked denture to its original state. Repairs may be required when breakage or chipping occurs, when one or more teeth need to be added to an existing denture (due to tooth extraction), or because of wear and tear. Most repairs can easily be done in one day. If your denture requires a repair, it may be indicative of underlying problems, including age of the denture, worn teeth, or poor fit. We recommend that you call to make an appointment for all repairs. This will ensure we can complete your repair in the shortest time possible.
